Located in Historic North Lawrence
Flooded once when it was Cole’s IGA in 1951, then a second time in 1993 as Roger’s IGA, our building was the site of the North Lawrence neighborhood grocery store. Before we moved in, it was also the location of the former Lawrence Harley-Davidson shop.
Happy Shirt Printing Company is a partnership between two guys with a combined lifetime in the printing business.
Established in 2010 by Lawrence native Mike Urish, who has over 25 years experience in the industry, Happy Shirt was created with the notion of putting the customer first. The main attraction to Happy Shirt Printing is the artwork itself. Mike’s ability to custom design artwork for your business, event, or personal use is unparalleled in the industry. Mike strives to give you exactly what you’re looking for and won’t rest until you’re content.
Justin Shiney’s father, Lee Shiney, was a screen printer and did it mostly out of their home where Justin was around to observe from an early age. He has memories of pulling squeegees in first grade. In high school, Justin worked for his dad, printing license plates in the garage, shortly after, he was printing shirts out of his room. After he graduated high school, he started working on automatic screen printing machines for Prairie Graphics, in Lawrence, and spent time in various other print shops around town. In 2007 he started his own business, Shiney Independent, printing shirts, signs, skateboards and more.
In 2011 Mike and Justin decided to merge and make Happy Shirt their ideal work space. Their motto: Be creative, work hard, print local.
